Soil sensors, easy to install and use!

Many farmers have expressed interest in soil sensors, but few have actually bought them.

The reason is simple – up to now, sensors on the market have been expensive, hard to install, and annoying to use.

In cooperation with eAgronom, IT company SuperHands accepted the challenge. After a successful testing period, we can now offer eAgronom customers soil sensors that are cheap, easy to install and integrated with eAgronom.

Why should you use soil sensors in your paddocks?

Soil sensors help you:

  • Time tasks – Soil temperature and moisture show the right time to sow, fertilise, or spray
  • Reduce costs on agrochemicals and fertilisers – fertilising at the wrong time doesn’t give the desired result
  • Save time – you don’t have to be in the paddock yourself to review the soil situation
  • Predict yield – assess soil temperature and moisture fluctuation during the vegetation period
  • Use your workforce efficiently – don’t send your employees onto the paddocks at the wrong time

It is very important not to sow seeds into soil that is too cold or too moist. Soil sensors helped us monitor soil temperature dynamics, thanks to which we delayed our spring tasks until the right time came.

What sensors do we offer?

There are 2 types of soil sensors:

  • Soil sensor – measures soil temperature and moisture
  • Soil and air sensor – measures soil temperature and moisture as well as air temperature and humidity

The sensors make a measurement every 10 minutes. See the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or full year, all through the eAgronom platform. You can make the best decisions!

PS: Going forward, SuperHands is also experimenting with rainfall sensors!

What does it cost?

  • Sensor for soil temperature and moisture – 199$
  • Sensor for soil temperature and moisture plus air temperature and humidity – 249$
  • Integration with eAgronom – 249$ per sensor
  • 3-year warranty (while integration with eAgronom is active)
  • Battery lifetime is 3 years; replacements cost 49$
